Quality Korean Education
Tampere KSI follows the official Sejong Korean curriculum — the same programme used at KSI locations from New York to Tokyo. We have built this institute around one principle: high-quality Korean education should be accessible to everyone, with no hidden fees and no barriers to entry.

Language Rooted in Culture
Every lesson connects language to Korean values, traditions, and everyday life. You are understanding the culture that gives the language its meaning.

A 3-year love letter to Korean education
A team from the National Institute of Korean Language spent three years creating the Sejong Korean textbook — designed to make every learner's journey fun and motivating.

Korean Speech Contest
Each year, the King Sejong Institute Foundation holds an international Korean speech contest. The winner earns a fully funded trip to Korea — one more reason to start learning today.
With a Community That Cares
Korean language and culture have never been more present in Finland. The Hallyu wave brought K-pop, K-dramas, and Korean food into Finnish everyday life — and with it came a genuine desire to go deeper. To understand the language behind the lyrics. To connect with the culture behind the screen. To find the people who share that same curiosity. Tampere KSI exists for exactly that. We are the primary provider of formal Korean language education in Tampere, and we believe language learning is most meaningful when it is driven by real cultural interest.

FAQ
Everything you need to know about learning Korean at Tampere KSI — courses, teachers, location, pricing, registration, and cultural events
Tampere KSI is the only official King Sejong Institute in Finland — part of a government-backed global network operating in 88 countries. You learn in a structured classroom with a certified teacher, a clear progression path from A1 to B2, and a genuine community of fellow learners. Cultural immersion is built into every course, not offered as an optional extra.
Absolutely. No prior knowledge of Korean is needed. The beginner course starts from zero — learning to read and write Hangul, basic pronunciation, and everyday expressions — following the CEFR A0 framework. Most students can read Korean script within the first few sessions.
Our instructors are native Korean speakers with professional teaching qualifications, supported by Finnish-speaking teachers experienced in working with international learners. All teachers are certified under the King Sejong Institute Foundation's standards and bring both deep language expertise and genuine cultural knowledge to every class.
On-site courses are held at Klingendahl — Pyhäjärvenkatu 5B 69–71, 33200 Tampere — a well-known creative hub in central Tampere, easily accessible by public transport. Online courses run with the same teachers and curriculum, accessible from anywhere in Finland.
Registration is through Linktree (linktr.ee/tampere.ksi). Spaces are limited at each level, so early registration is strongly recommended — especially for beginner courses, which fill quickly. If you are unsure which level is right for you, contact us at tampere.ksi@iwk.fi and we will help you find the right fit.
Explore →Throughout the year, Tampere KSI runs hands-on workshops and events open to both enrolled students and the general public. Past events have included Korean calligraphy, traditional tea ceremonies, hanbok experiences, K-pop workshops, and Korean cooking. Weekly culture sessions run every Monday and Friday during the semester. Follow @tampere.ksi on Instagram for the latest updates.
Yes. Online courses are available for learners across Finland — whether you are based in Helsinki, Turku, or anywhere else. The programme uses the same certified teachers, official Sejong Korean curriculum, and live instruction as the on-site courses. The experience is the same, wherever you join from.
